Friday of 2nd week of Eastertide

It has pretty much been sunny blue skies every morning this week! Alleluia Easter light!!

Psalm 26(27):1,4,13-14

There is one thing I ask of the Lord, to live in the house of the Lord.

Alleluia!

The Lord is my light and my help;

whom shall I fear?

The Lord is the stronghold of my life;

before whom shall I shrink?

There is one thing I ask of the Lord, to live in the house of the Lord.

There is one thing I ask of the Lord,

for this I long,

to live in the house of the Lord,

all the days of my life,

to savour the sweetness of the Lord,

to behold his temple.

There is one thing I ask of the Lord, to live in the house of the Lord.

I am sure I shall see the Lord’s goodness

in the land of the living.

Hope in him, hold firm and take heart.

Hope in the Lord!

There is one thing I ask of the Lord, to live in the house of the Lord.

The psalms this week have called out to me. In fact most of them do, especially the words that are consoling and comforting.

We sang opening, communion, thanksgiving and recessional today

Fr Thomas Lim was enthusiastic on his homily today with the Gospel on the 5 loaves and 2 fish that he began to tell stories on RCIA and Archie in Rome 🙂

He mentioned that although this Gospel repeats itself several times in the year, it is to be interpreted differently for different Seasons. In Easter, the message is about spiritual food for community

The breaking of hearts is more important than the breaking of the word which is easy. It is Jesus’ divine power that satisfies our spiritual need. 5000 people were fed and full n happy. Can we reach out to those in community.

We are all challenged to be the 5 loaves n 2 fish to the people

Don’t dwell on multiplication -look at deeper level. It is a miracle and cannot be explained. The spiritual hunger needs to be fed.

By just being simple bread n broken, people still want it. We all have different gifts so can’t please all. Give what we can

The heart is changed as soon as food was fed spiritually

The little we have , the little hope or faith or effort we expend, God will work miracles in our lives n multiple what we give n are willing to let go of. Never say not enough. Believe in the goodness of the Lord. The Lord will break it n shake it n make it good

There is always enough, plenty and more than enough, if our heart is willing. How generous are we like this little boy with the 5 loaves and 2 fish.

Think it’s the first time I’ve come across this communion hymn. Liked the melody
